Subject Matter: Assisted Living Facility Liability Insurance Disclosure
Virginia Regulatory Update published December 9, 2013
The Virginia Department of Social
Services has issued a Notice of Intended Regulatory Action to establish the
minimum amount of liability insurance coverage to be maintained by an ALF.
The action also will include changes to the regulations to require an ALF
to disclose to any resident, prospective resident, and his legal
representative, if any, whether it maintains the minimum amount of liability
insurance coverage. The Agency statement concerning this proposal can be

will open on December 16, 2013 and will remain open through January 15, 2014.
