 Kathryn L. Locatell, M.D., has a private clinical and consulting practice in Sacramento, California. She obtained her M.D. from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and completed her internal medicine residency at the University of California, Davis Medical Center. Board certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine, she was formerly chief of elder care services for Kaiser-Permanente, Sacramento and taught at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine as assistant clinical professor of medicine. She consults as an expert witness in nursing home litigation and has presented numerous educational programs to both physicians and attorneys on nursing home topics.

Kathryn L. Locatell, M.D.,wrote Physicians’ Liability Issues. She has a private clinical and consulting practice in the Sacramento, California region. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, she completed her internal medicine residency training at the University of California, Davis Medical Center and is board certified in both internal medicine and geriatric medicine. She has served as Chief of Elder Care Services for the Kaiser Sacramento region, and as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the UC Davis Medical Center. Dr. Locatell was an invited witness before the U. S. Senate Special Committee on Aging hearings on the quality of care in California nursing homes in 1998, and has consulted with both federal and state government agencies on issues of elderly care. She is currently engaged as a consultant with the State of California Department of Justice, Bureau of Medi-Cal Fraud, and Elder Abuse. Dr. Locatell’s current clinical practice includes nursing home residents, nursing home medical directorship, hospice work and teaching. The focus of her consulting practice is forensic geriatrics. She has lectured and written extensively on medical-legal aspects of elderly care.
